Keynote Speakers
This year's event provided some amazing keynote speakers.  Thank you to John, Linda, and Gloria for being a part of the 2008 CERC Conference!

John Ibbitson                      Linda Edgecombe                 Gloria Macarenko

John Ibbitson
A veteran political writer for the Globe and Mail and the author of The Polite Revolution, John Ibbitson is one of Canada's most respected political journalists. His commentary, written with great style and searing insight, has played a major role in shaping the way Canadians think about our country and our politics, from a provincial to a federal to an international level. John is currently covering the U.S. primary race in advance of the U.S. Federal elections in November 2008. He is a noted expert on Canada/ U.S. political relations and trade matters. In 2005 he wrote the Canadian best seller - "The Polite Revolution, Perfecting The Canadian Dream". View John's article on
A Look at the Future, focussing on the U.S. presidential elections, and how this will impact Canada.

Gloria Macarenko - moderator for "In Conversation"
Gloria co-hosts the award-winning newscast CBC News Vancouver (formerly Canada Now). She has twice been nominated for the Gemini Awards in the category of "Best News Anchor" in Canada. Macarenko, whose broadcasting career spans over 20 years, has been with CBC for more than 18 years. Gloria's most recent honours have been a Jack Webster Award for "Best News Reporting" in 2002 and in 2004 she received a Leo Award for "Best Anchor in a News Program", an award she shared with her co-host Ian Hanomansing.

Linda Edgecombe
Linda is an internationally renowned speaker, trainer and consultant. She is a best selling author who energizes every room as she leads people to loosen up, lighten the load and laugh. Linda will take us on an educational and highly humorous ride that will re-energize us for the return home. She'll help us get rid of the negative drainers and bring more balance and energy at home and at work. A serious message - but you'll laugh till it hurts.
