2009 Highlights
September 16, 2009 saw over 25 attend the "RFP: Opportunity or Necessary Evil" event, where guest speaker Lisa Hulet lead delegates through the politics of an RFP. Lisa covered: why would a corporation go to market, what is the difference between RFQ, RFI, and RFP, what is an online auction and when would one be used, who should develop the proposal and who should respond, and is price really the only thing that counts. On March 3, 2009 over 45 delegates participated in the "Construction of an Industry Blueprint" event which focussed on current trends in relocations, and how to manage those trends affectively. On May 29, 2008 nearly 80 delegates participated in the regional Symposium... Canada's Future Workforce: Implementing Solutions for a National Dilemma. This event was the first to be held across Canada, and featured representatives from government and business, who came together to discuss the complex challenge of talent shortages and an aging workforce. One speaker described the future - "talent is the new oil" on the world market. Upon completion of the series, CERC will create a White Paper, which will also be made available to CERC members.
