2009 Highlights
November 12, 2009 marked the 2nd Symposium to be held in Montréal, with nearly 40 people in attendance. "Building the Workforce for a Changing Economy"/ "Bâtir sa main-d'oeuvre dans une économie en mouvance" saw guest speakers Christian Bernard, Bernard de Jaham, Dr Philippe Couillard, Julie Lessard, and Stephen Cryne cover some important information about the economic trends that are driving change in the greater Montréal region. Participants gained an understanding of the impact of new agreements for labour mobility between Québec and France, and received the latest on immigration policy and how it will respond to future labour market demands.
October 20, 2009 saw nearly 20 individuals attend the "2007 Protocol to the Canada-US Income Tax Treaty" event, where guest speakers Terri Spadocia and Chantal Baril of Deloitte spoke about the treaty's application to executives and their employers. Thank you to our sponsor: Deloitte.

2008 Highlights
Our November 26th event had just over 20 delegates attending to enjoy some festive cheer, while learning about protecting the success of an international assignment. On September 8, 2008 nearly 50 delegates participated in the regional Symposium... Canada's Future Workforce: Implementing Solutions for a National Dilemma. This event was the fifth and final held across Canada, and featured representatives from government and business, who came together to discuss the complex challenge of talent shortages and an aging workforce. CERC will create a White Paper for submission to government, and which will also be made available to CERC members.
