CERC's Capital Region (Ottawa) is pleased to partner with the ACTE Global (Association of Corporate Travel Executives) to present a day of programming.

Topics will include:

ACTE Business Travel 101 – Synergies, Alignment, Collaboration
Presenter:  Ms Onita Dey, CTC – BCD Travel
Learn first-hand how the travel management life cycle, internal stakeholders and supplier partners provide industry synergies that align the transient and relocation experience.  A well-managed travel program should provide value for a company’s entire travel needs, including transferee moves. Aligning corporate travel with global mobility is guaranteed to ensure an equitable and positive travel experience for all transferees and their families while achieving corporate and budget objectives.

Extended Business Travelers: Challenges and Best Practices
Presenter:  Ms Jennifer Connell – Weichert Workforce Mobility
As companies continue to respond to business needs around the world, extended business travel is becoming more common. At the same time, the regulations around immigration and tax make it more difficult to navigate than ever.  Employees are encountering challenges in crossing borders and countries are scrutinizing individual activities that trigger taxes owed to the government.  The risks are becoming more imminent and the window to develop a program is getting smaller. However, many companies have not formalized a process to evaluate the risk in sending employees on international business travel.  During this presentation, Jennifer Connell, Practice Leader of Weichert Workforce Mobility’s Advisory Services will discuss the findings of Weichert’s recent survey on EBTs with an overview of common risks and challenges and how companies are overcoming them.
