CERC in the Community

CERC is actively engaged in supporting charitable causes in Canada and beyond. At a local level our Regional Committees support organizations via food drives, toy drives and furniture donations by members in communities across Canada. CERC also assists with fundraising efforts by organizations such as the Canadian Red Cross that provide relief support for national disasters, such as the forest fires in Western Canada and humanitarian work in international locations.

In 2020 CERC confirmed its support to Talent Beyond Boundaries (TBB), as the charity of choice for CERC’s fundraising activities.  TBB is a not-for-profit global organization that helps support talented refugees and their families obtain skilled visas to enter stable countries and rebuild their lives. TBB works directly with refugees in Jordan and Lebanon and is currently helping refugees secure employment in Canada, Australia, and the UK.   The CERC Global Awareness Committee will assist TBB in establishing services in Canada for the employment and resettlement of skilled refugees. The goal of this committee is to promote, support and fundraise for TBB which will also include raising the profile of TBB within the CERC membership base.

Prior to 2020 CERC’s charity of choice was Médecins Sans Frontières - Doctors Without Borders. Since 2004, our members have raised more than $250,000 in support of its humanitarian work.

At the CERC 2022 conference, the CERC community raised over $10,000 for TBB.
